I am currently an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Johns Hopkins University. My specialties include racial politics, black politics, urban politics, and public opinion. The author of Stare in the Darkness: Rap, Hip-hop, and Black Politics (University of Minnesota Press), I am currently at work on my second project tracing the neoliberal turn in black politics.
