Pamela Shuggi graduated with a double major in International Studies and Romance Languages from Johns Hopkins in 2003. Her Senior Thesis was entitled "Unified Europe's Linguistic Experience." Her area of specialization is Modern Peninsular Spanish Literature and her dissertation will discuss questions of time and timing in the novels of Javier Marías.  Research interests beyond her area of specialization include nineteenth and twentieth century French Literature as well as Arabic Language and Literature particularly via political, philosophical and cultural modes of inquiry.
